Re: Database stability/ what I want from a notes app
Hi
I loved EZ Note under System 9.
I waited for it to appear for X, and waited. Meanwhile I used the folders I had created in EZNote and 'manually' stored stuff in them. I used the finder search and 3rd party searchthings to find stuff in them.
Then we got spotlight and I was dissapointed that it didn't allow tuned searching.
So I looked for EZNote X and found it and it wouldn¹t even recognise some of my folders and it was way slow and, most important of all the nifty keystrokes for open/create/view notes were missing.
Grr!
Then I looked for X apps and found and bought both Devon Think and Yojimbo.
And I use them like this:
I use Yojimbo to grab stuff because grabbing is easier than in Devon Think.
But the searching in Yo is way slow. And I only have 1604 items in the archive.
So I use Think for big searches because its 'search and display' is brilliant and fast.
And every so often I export new Yo items to Think.
Which is a terrible kludge.
Best wishes Arthur Battram
