I saw a few people were mentioning problems syncing. When my Windows 7 Boot Camp install croaked and took my entire hard drive with it, I found after restoring from Time Machine that I couldn't sync properly with SyncTogether. I spent a ton of time with the support guy (who was helpful), and this is what I ended up doing.
First, I backed up my data, then ran the "clean SyncTogher" script he gave me, which I'll post below this. You should be able to manually this or make a script that will work when clicked. This removed ST completely. I then reinstalled SyncTogether v1.0.3, which is the current version on both machines.
Before running a sync I opened my main Yojimbo install and did what I could to reduce it. I had a bunch of old notes that I didn't need anymore, and saved webpages from 2006, which I killed.
I then copied a duplicate of my Yojimbo folder inside ~Library/ Application Support/ to my other Mac, so that I had a duplicate of each when opened. I created test records on the laptop and the tower so I could see if syncing was working. When I then ran the first sync, it went fine and now everything seems to be running well.
Hope this helps someone. I'd personally like to see BB consider building the sync functionality into the program itself, using Apple's API, which would add tons of value since many of us have multiple computers but no one (no one I know anyway) wants to pay for .Mac, or .Me, or whatever it's called now. SyncTogether is a good tool but clearly not as problem free as we'd like.
The cleaning script for SyncTogether is below.
#! /bin/csh # Author: Jim Park jpark@markspace.com # SyncTogetherclean version 1.0 # January 31, 2007
cd /Applications/SyncTogether/Uninstaller.app/Contents/MacOS/ ../Uninstaller
