Comments on the new YJ2 and working with tags
I'm just writing this to other users who might have the same initial problem to help them solve this and want to advertise the posibility of putting the tag/label editor into the toolbar (i.e. a custom button for opening that window we can add to the toolbar). So, I just was about to write this question/paragraph:
<quote> I'm not sure if I just am not able to find this or if this possiblitiy has gone with YJ2. Formerly, going into the preferences and deleting a tag was no problem, it would be gone from all items. Now, with the tag explorer (and no tags in preferences), this no longer seems possible: if I select the tag in the explorer, it is only used in the filter and right-clicking tags to possibly get some context menu is not available. Then, if I filter on the tag I want to delete and select all items, opening the "Info-window", it is the same as in YJ: it just says "Mutliple Values" (which I already had discussed earlier with BB and I understand it isn't simple to solve). However, it is annoying there is no longer an easy way to delete a tag from multiple items WITHOUT writing a SCRIPT for that (or am I just not able of finding the way?). </quote>
When I finally found the context menu "Change Tags..." for any selected items in YJ, which nicely allows us to add or remove specific tags (with autocompletion) from the selected set. Great solution I at least was not aware of after looking at the "what's new in 2.0" stuff - although you could also do this this if you find the "tag/label editor" in the menu bar (I would love to have this editor available from the toolbar, as said in the beginning) and experiment with it. I think the context menu (also available from "Item" in the menu bar) is an important new feature worht noticing for working with tags, just as the capabilities of the tag/label editor!
Otherwise, thanks to the developers for the real tag support in YJ (even with auto-tagging when dragging items in through the drawer, which I think many of us were "dreaming" of!) and the expanded quick input/print to YJ dialogs! So far, I think this new tag support covers everything I was waiting for, and hope to get back with more details once I have spent some more weeks working with YJ2.
