I've just posted 2 scripts on my .Mac site which some of you may find interesting or helpful.
<http://homepage.mac.com/psamech>
First one is Yojimbo2Mailsmith which can send a note, bookmark URL, serial number, web archive URL or pdf archive to a new or existing mail in Mailsmith. The pdf archive is handled as an attachment.
The second is Yojimbo Mail which does exactly what the first script does but without the assistance of a formal email program. Instead it uses J. B. LaStang's XMail.osax to seemingly send mail directly from within Yojimbo itself.
Both of these are beta releases and have been tested fairly well but I can't think of every thing so I'm asking for your critque.
Both scripts are in compiled datafork format and what documentation for them exists is within the script itself. Please open them up in your editor and read the comments before you try them.
Known Issues:
Depending on the source material from which your database item was made, the results of the script in Mailsmith may not be too flattering. Mailsmith's preference settings may also have adverse effects.
Handling of images is... unknown at present. Neither script has been tested with anything other than a pdf that contains images. Since Mailsmith is plain text only images would have to be an attachment and I'm not sure how to pursue that aspect. In fact I'm not even sure it can be pursued at present.
Contact:
I don't want to burden the mailing list with this, please reply off-list! Unless, of course, you find an egregious bug that turns a G5 PPC Desktop Mac into a Dell laptop.
